Fatima Serrano has been going to the mountains since she was 11 years old and since then it has become for her the playground of her career. “A couple of years ago I decided to go on the professional side of mountaineering, and began the training to become a professional mountain guide. Now, I’m an aspirant UIAGM/IFMGA guide. This process has taken me to beautiful mountains, crazy climbing places and amazing countries, such as, Bolivia, Perú, Colombia, México, and the Alps. I’m looking forward to finishing the UIAGM/IFMGA process and to keep on discovering new places and learning more and more”. Her father Dr Marcos Serrano was one of the pioneers in mountaineering in Ecuador, a well-respected climber, for many years and active member of the San Gabriel Mountaineering Club.
