The Posada de Tigua is situated just below the village of Tigua in a beautiful spot with great views of the surrounding countryside. Posada de Tigua is a family run guest house and Margarita Rodriguez who runs the Posada is extremely welcoming and makes sure that guests feel so thoroughly at home that you will feel as if you are staying with friends. Before major land redistribution in the 1960s, the family were the largest landowners in the area and their hacienda is still a working dairy farm. Here they have cows, llamas, and even a donkey or two and you are encouraged to see the work of the farm. Rooms are very comfortable and a wood burning stove in the sitting rooms makes the Posada very cozy. The freshly prepared food here is really excellent.
